One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

It is a 1975 comedy drama film starring: Jack Nicholson, Louise Fletcher. William Redfield, Will Sampson, among others in the lead character.

The term "Cuckoo's Nest" indicates a mental hospital since 'Cuckoo' in America is used to mean "nuts", "crazy". One Flew means The Chief (Will Sampson) who flew over from the mental institution.

The ward nurse Ratchet (Louise Fletcher) is more strict than what Randle McMurphy(Jack Nicholson) thinks. The film is about the juxtaposition of McMurphy and Ratchet which leads to a mini battle field inside the ward. Ratchet believes "Rules are meant to be broken" and just creates funny scenes in the ward. Ratchet tries to raise spirits of other patients by playing pranks, horseplay in the ward.

McMurphy steals the institution bus and takes his friends for fishing in the sea. He tries the patients in his ward to experience a life of a normal person than just to live a asylum life. Even though McMurphy has different motive, he helps his friends in every possible way.

At last, his wish is to escape out of the mental hospital which does not get fulfilled. Though his idea helps the Chief to throw the hydrotherapy cart through the window and escapes into the night.
